DVDCoverLinks, from now on called “DCL”, is a growing DVD Cover archive with covers in very high quality. The archive is 100% free to enter and you may download as many covers as you wish without limitations.
The reason we decided to start DCL is because we felt that there were no really good alternatives to the biggest archive cdcovers.cc which is a huge archive with lot’s of covers, however it lacks the quality. Many covers found on cdcovers.cc is in very poor quality and will not look good when printed out. Most other websites offering high quality covers also came with a fee. Therefore our main mission with DCL is to create the biggest free archive with dvd covers in high resolution.
Now you may ask yourself? How are we going to host all these covers? That’s when mirros and our name LINKS comes into action. DVDCoverLinks is simply a database storing hyperlinks to covers, this way, we will be able to provide a very fast and reliable website, while you access other websites to download. There are currently thousands of so called “Image Hosts” on the web today, all offering FREE hosting for you images.
The idea is simple, you upload images to these website and enter the link at DCL. Each coverpage will have several links, mirros, to ensure that once 1 image host goes down, there are several others to replace it.
Obviously there is a risk involved that all the image hosts will go down, and therefore we have arranged a partner site which is designed to host all our covers. This website is called dcl.vg.to and will be hosting all our covers. The other Image Sites will therefore work as mirros for dcl.vg.to.
To ensure fast speed and uptime we are also running a dedicated 100Mbit server located in Germany. This server is currently paid out of our own pockets, but we hope and believe that in the future, donations and ads will pay these server costs.
It’s a huge project, but we hope to recruit some good uploaders that can help us and make this vision a reality. We are really motivation to make this site happen, so enjoy the ride.
